No. Participants never need to create an account, download an app, or sign in. They simply click the invite link, enter their name, pick their golfers, and they’re in.
If you have an invite link, just click it. If you have a pool code, go to the Join page and paste it in. You’ll be taken directly to the pick sheet.
Ready Golf Pools supports 21 PGA Tour events: all four majors (Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open, The Open), signature events like The Players Championship and the Genesis Invitational, and regular season tournaments from The Sentry through the TOUR Championship.
Picking Golfers
It depends on your pool’s format. In the Classic 4-Tier format, you pick one golfer from each of four tiers – 4 golfers total. In Pick 6 Count 4, you pick 6 golfers but only your best 4 scores count. Pick 6 Count 5 is a less forgiving variant where your best 5 of 6 count. Pool admins can also create Custom formats with different tier and scoring combinations.
Yes, as long as it’s before the pick deadline. After submitting, you’ll get a personal edit link. Bookmark it or save it – it’s the only way to change your picks.
The pool admin sets a pick deadline when creating the pool (typically before the first tee time on Thursday). After the deadline, no new entries or edits are allowed.
Contact your pool admin. They can see all entries in the admin dashboard. If the deadline hasn’t passed, the admin can also add a new entry on your behalf from the pool detail page.
WD means the golfer has withdrawn from the tournament and cannot be selected. If a golfer you’ve already picked withdraws, their score depends on when they withdrew – see the Scoring section for details.
Scoring & Rules
Your pool score is the combined to-par score of your golfer picks. Lowest total wins. In formats where you pick more golfers than count (like Pick 6 Count 4), only your best scores are used.
By default, golfers who miss the cut receive their score at the cut line plus an 8-stroke penalty. Your pool admin may set a different penalty amount or style (flat penalty vs. per-round penalty) when creating the pool.
If a golfer withdraws before Round 1, they’re treated as a missed cut (default +8 penalty). If they withdraw during the tournament, their score at the time of withdrawal stands with no extra penalty.
By default, ties are broken by the lowest single round score across all of a participant’s picks. The pool admin can also configure the tiebreaker to use total strokes instead.
Scores update every minute during tournament rounds, pulled from live tournament data. The leaderboard auto-refreshes every 60 seconds.
Golfers are divided into tiers based on world ranking or Vegas odds and distributed as evenly as possible. The top-ranked golfers go into Tier 1 (Favorites), and the lowest-ranked go into the last tier (Sleepers). The exact number of tiers depends on your pool’s format.
Pool Formats & Settings
Four presets: Classic 4-Tier (pick 4, all count), Pick 6 Count 4 (pick 6, best 4 count), Pick 6 Count 5 (pick 6, best 5 count), and Salary Cap (pick within a budget based on golfer odds). Every tier format uses one pick per tier. Scoring rules like the missed cut penalty and tiebreaker are customizable on any format.
Yes. When creating a pool, the admin can adjust the missed cut penalty (default +8), choose between a flat penalty or per-round penalty, select the tiebreaker rule, and choose between pick 6 count 4 or pick 6 count 5 scoring.
Pool admins can lock a pool to prevent new entries, set a maximum number of entries, require an email address, allow late entries after the deadline, and control whether scores and emails are visible on the leaderboard.
On the admin pool detail page, click “Add Entry.” This lets you enter picks on behalf of another participant. Admin entries bypass the pick deadline.
Yes. The leaderboard shows all entries and their picks as soon as they’re submitted. Scores will appear once tournament play begins and update automatically from there.
